Cirebon – The leader of the Buntet Islamic Boarding School, Mertapada Kulon Village, Astanajapura District, Cirebon Regency, West Java, KH Adib Rofiuddin Izza expressed his support for candidate number 2, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
This support was conveyed directly by KH Adib at the headquarters of the Prabowo-Gibran National Campaign Team (TKN) in the Jakarta area on Wednesday, January 3, 2023.
“Our hope is clear, I have conveyed to Mr. Prabowo at that time, Mr. Prabowo is very concerned about Islamic boarding schools and the people,” said KH Adib.
KH Adib is convinced that Prabowo is not a power-hungry figure, because the former Commander of the Kopassus is more interested in serving the nation.
“I am sure that he is not expecting a position, not expecting anything, just one thing: to serve the nation,” said KH Adib.
Furthermore, the charismatic cleric denied what had been previously reported, where the name of the Buntet Islamic Boarding School leader was mentioned as supporting the Ganjar-Mahfud pair.
KH Adib stressed that he has supported Prabowo since the beginning, because he and the Indonesian Minister of Defense have an emotional bond.
“That’s the dynamics of politics, but maybe the ladies or gentlemen do not know about my emotional relationship with Mr. Prabowo,” said KH Adib.
In line with this, the Advisor of the Prabowo-Gibran TKN, M Iriawan expressed his gratitude for the support.
“Of course, I am grateful to him, my teacher, my cleric, from the Buntet Islamic Boarding School. I have been interacting for quite a long time in Buntet when I was there too. Certainly, because this is an extraordinary, old, charismatic Islamic boarding school, and it has quite a lot of students,” said the man who is familiarly called Iwan Bule at the same location.
Iwan Bule is confident that this support will strengthen the voice of Prabowo-Gibran, especially in the West Java region, so that they can win convincingly.
“God willing, West Java will bring a fairly convincing victory later, we pray. What is certain is that I am grateful to the leader of the Buntet Islamic boarding school for the support for our pair Prabowo-Gibran, who will God willing bring Indonesia to a better, more prosperous, peaceful and developed country,” he said.
