Indonesian Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto arrived in Canberra for an official working visit to Australia on Monday (19/8). He arrived at RAAF Base Fairbairn at approximately 7:04 PM local time.
Prabowo was welcomed by Australian Minister for Defence Industry Pat Conroy, Chief of the Australian Defence Force Admiral David Johnston, Australian Ambassador to Indonesia Penny Williams, Indonesian Ambassador to Australia Siswo Pramono, Australian Defence Attaché in Jakarta BG Matt Campbell, and Indonesian Defence Attaché in Canberra, Rear Admiral TNI Yusliandi Ginting, along with an honor guard.
Afterward, Prabowo went to the Hyatt Hotel Canberra where he was greeted by Meutya Hafid, Chairperson of Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Jhon Wempi Wetipo, Director General of Defense Strategy Major General TNI Ujang Darwis, and several other officials from the Indonesian Embassy in Canberra.
During his visit, Prabowo is set to have meetings with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Deputy Prime Minister as well as Minister of Defence Richard Marles.
