Prabowo Subianto Attends Dinner with U.S. Secretary of State Blinken, Discusses Solutions for Palestine

Washington, D.C. — Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto attended a dinner invitation with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken at the American Foreign Service Association in Washington, D.C., on Monday evening, November 11.

Prabowo was warmly greeted by Blinken, who awaited him in the lobby of the Association building. Dressed in a tailored suit and traditional black peci, Prabowo was welcomed with a friendly handshake from Blinken.

“Welcome, Mr. President,” Blinken greeted him warmly.

“Thank you very much,” Prabowo replied.

At the dinner table, Blinken emphasized the importance of Prabowo’s visit to the United States.

“It’s a pleasure to have you here in the United States. I hope you enjoy your visit. I want to begin by saying how much we value this long-standing relationship between our countries over the past 75 years,” Blinken remarked.

Blinken noted that Prabowo’s visit comes at a pivotal time, both as his first official visit since being inaugurated on October 20, 2024, and as a celebration of 75 years of Indonesia-U.S. relations.

“It’s truly beneficial to have you here, newly inaugurated, celebrating 75 years of our countries’ partnership. This is a remarkable way to look ahead to the next 75 years, especially at such a crucial moment,” Blinken added.

As the evening concluded, Blinken offered his appreciation, expressing hope that Prabowo enjoyed the dinner.

“I hope you enjoyed the meal tonight. I very much look forward to our conversation. Thank you for coming,” Blinken said warmly.

Following dinner, Prabowo raised the topic of Palestine with Blinken.

“What about Palestine? Can you find a solution to this issue?” Prabowo inquired.

“We are working hard to address the situation there,” Blinken responded. (RR)
