President Prabowo Subianto received a warm welcome from Khofifah Indar Parawansa, the Chairperson of the Central Leadership of Muslimat Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), and other board members during a meeting at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on 14 January 2025. Khofifah shared information about successful programs and services implemented by Muslimat NU that have had a direct impact on grassroots communities. President Prabowo praised the initiatives of Muslimat NU and emphasized the importance of their extensive network in ensuring the effectiveness of these programs.
During the meeting, Khofifah introduced two new initiatives, Mustika Mesem (Muslimat Combating Extreme Poverty) and Mustika Darling (Muslimat Environmental Awareness), which will be launched at the upcoming XVIII Congress of Muslimat NU. Mustika Mesem aims to reduce extreme poverty through simple activities such as recitation, while Mustika Darling focuses on raising environmental awareness through waste management efforts led by Muslimat NU cadres. Khofifah emphasized the importance of these programs in addressing crucial issues like poverty and environmental sustainability.
Discussions also took place regarding the preparations for the XVIII Muslimat NU Congress scheduled to be held from 11-16 February 2025 in Surabaya. The congress, expected to be attended by numerous delegates from all over Indonesia, aims to further strengthen the organization’s presence and impact nationwide. The meeting ended with Khofifah inviting President Prabowo to attend the opening ceremony of the Congress on 12 February.
