Prabowo-MBS Tingkatkan Koordinasi Haji Indonesia

President Prabowo Subianto from Indonesia visited Saudi Arabia on July 2–3, 2025, to strengthen cooperation in improving services for Indonesian pilgrims during their Hajj and Umrah journeys. He met with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah, thanking the Saudi government for its dedication to serving pilgrims from various countries, including Indonesia.

The meeting highlighted the close partnership between the two nations in ensuring the safety and comfort of Indonesian pilgrims. They agreed to enhance the quality of services for Indonesian pilgrims in future Hajj seasons, emphasizing a seamless pilgrimage experience.

Aside from discussions about Hajj-related issues, strategic agreements were made to deepen bilateral relations. The Saudi–Indonesia Supreme Coordination Council, led by the Crown Prince and President Prabowo, focused on expanding cooperation in trade, investment, energy, and technology. Bilateral trade between the two countries has reached USD 31.5 billion over the last five years.

Moreover, agreements and memoranda of understanding were signed to encourage private sector investment, totaling around USD 27 billion. These investments are expected to create job opportunities in Indonesia, especially in energy, industrial development, and environmentally sustainable technology sectors.

Both leaders highlighted the significance of collaboration in the health sector, particularly in addressing the medical needs of Hajj and Umrah pilgrims. They also discussed advancing the pharmaceutical and vaccine industries and enhancing health workforce capacity.

On the international front, President Prabowo and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman reiterated their commitment to promoting peaceful conflict resolutions in the region. They expressed support for a two-state solution for Palestine and emphasized the role of international humanitarian organizations in fostering peace and stability.

The visit showcased the strong and growing partnership between Saudi Arabia and Indonesia in various fields, underlining their joint efforts to enhance services for Indonesian pilgrims and deepen cooperation for the mutual benefit of both nations.
