President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, made a departure for Bandung, West Java, on Wednesday evening aboard the Whoosh high-speed train. Travelling alongside members of the public from Halim Station in Jakarta, the President arrived at the station at around 7:45 p.m local time. Dressed in a cream-colored outfit with a matching jacket and navy blue cap, Prabowo tapped his boarding card at the ticket gate before making his way up the escalator to the platform.
His presence sparked surprise and excitement among commuters, as he waved to onlookers and warmly engaged with the crowd. Before boarding the train, President Prabowo took time to pose for photos with the Whoosh crew. The high-speed train departed for Tegalluar Station in Bandung at exactly 8:00 p.m.
President Prabowo is set to inaugurate the 2025 Indonesian Convention on Science, Technology, and Industry (KSTI) at Sasana Budaya Ganesa (Sabuga), Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) from August 7 to 9. Delivering the keynote address at the convention alongside Nobel Laureate Konstantin Novoselov and Minister of Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto, the theme of KSTI 2025 is “Economic Growth and Equity Through Mastery of Science and Technology.” The event is expected to serve as a crucial strategic forum on both national and international levels.
