Prabowo’s Meeting with Peruvian President and Highest Honor in 2024

Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia, fondly recalled the moment when he was awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of the Sun of Peru by Peruvian President Dina Boluarte on November 14, 2024. This highest honor bestowed by the Peruvian government was shared by Prabowo during a press statement at Merdeka Palace, Central Jakarta, on Monday, November 8, as part of Boluarte’s official visit. The strong diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Peru since 1975 were highlighted by Prabowo, who also reciprocated by presenting Boluarte with Indonesia’s highest award, the Bintang Republik Indonesia Adipurna, in recognition of her contributions to bilateral friendship and cooperation. The signing of cooperation agreements between the two countries in various areas such as narcotics eradication, combating illicit trade, food security, mining, energy transition, fisheries, and defense further solidified their partnership. This meaningful exchange of honors and collaborations signifies the commitment to fostering continued growth and cooperation between Indonesia and Peru in the future.
