Prabowo: Indonesia’s Largest Education Budget in History Hits Rp 757.8 Trillion

He highlighted the allocation of Rp 757.8 trillion for education in the 2026 state budget, which is the highest amount in Indonesia’s history. Prabowo emphasized the importance of high-quality education for producing globally competitive human resources and eradicating poverty. He mentioned the priorities of improving teacher welfare and quality, enhancing vocational training, and aligning curricula with labor market demands to ensure effective use of education funds. The budget breakdown includes funding for programs like Program Indonesia Pintar and scholarships for university students, as well as investments in school and campus facilities. Prabowo also highlighted the government’s commitment to strengthening schools for underprivileged children and expanding access to quality education through initiatives like the Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education. The President closed his remarks by stressing the need for advancements in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) in Indonesia.
