Hasan Nasbi, a member of the Prabowo-Gibran Synchronization Task Force’s Communication Division, has clarified that the rumor about the budget for nutritious free meals for school students being reduced to IDR 7,500 per child is not an official statement from the team. The rumor was initially spread by economist Heriyanto Irawan, who claimed to have discussed the matter with Prabowo’s team.
Hasan emphasized that President-elect Prabowo Subianto and Vice President-elect Gibran Rakabuming Raka are focused on providing meals that meet nutritional standards. The cost per child is still being carefully reviewed, and no specific figure has been decided yet.
He also explained that different regions in Indonesia have diverse sources of nutrition, resulting in varying local menus and food availability. The fulfillment of nutritional standards will be adjusted accordingly.
Gibran also urged not to report on uncertain matters and clarified that the ongoing trials for nutritious free meals are using a budget of IDR 15,000 per person.
