President Prabowo’s Heartfelt Appreciation for PCO Farmers

Farmers have always been close to President Prabowo Subianto’s heart, as mentioned by Dedek Prayudi, Senior Expert at the Presidential Communication Office (PCO). This connection can be traced back to two significant moments in Prabowo’s life. First, during his time as a military officer, he received help from local communities and farmers. Second, when he led the Indonesian Farmers Harmony Association (HKTI). Dedek, also known as Uki, made these statements while attending the grand corn harvest for the Food Security Program in Jenggalu Village, Bengkulu Province. He emphasized the importance of the food security program amid the global situation where Indonesia needs to reduce its dependence on foreign food supplies. Uki highlighted the potential growth in cultivated areas and yields with government support, such as subsidized fertilizers, pesticides, and agricultural machinery, motivating farmers. He encouraged the village head to expedite administrative requirements for farmers to access subsidized fertilizers to increase production capacity and farmer satisfaction. Kelik Budianan, Head of the Food Data and Information Center at the National Food Agency (Pusdatin Bapanas), expressed support for President Prabowo’s initiative. They are collaborating with the State Logistics Agency (Bulog) to absorb farmers’ corn harvests and integrate supply chains with livestock breeders for mutual benefits. This effort was acknowledged by various officials and stakeholders present at the event in Jenggalu Village.
