Andra Farizki Ramdhani, a 10th-grade student at People’s High School (SRMA 10) in South Jakarta, is a testament to resilience despite growing up without a father. With his mother as the family’s sole breadwinner, Andra has found new hope through the People’s School initiative, spearheaded by President Prabowo Subianto.
Despite facing financial challenges, Andra expressed gratitude for the opportunity to receive a proper education through the People’s School. The initiative has provided a platform for children who cannot afford education to thrive academically and develop intellectually.
Attending a boarding school, Andra shared his experiences of adjusting to dorm life, which has been a mix of challenges and rewards. Despite missing his family, he has found companionship and camaraderie among his friends at school, making the experience more lively and engaging.
Andra’s days are structured with morning routines, classes, extracurricular activities, and calls to his mother in the evenings. He finds strength in the friendships he has formed with his roommates, sharing laughs and creating lasting bonds.
The facilities at SRMA 10 have exceeded Andra’s expectations, providing a conducive learning environment with comfortable amenities and attentive teachers. His involvement in extracurricular activities, such as judo and informatics, has enriched his academic journey.
Despite the absence of his father, Andra remains determined to pursue his ambitions, which include becoming a judo athlete and furthering his education at Defense University (Unhan). He credits his mother for her unwavering support and guidance, fueling his aspirations and motivating him to succeed.
Grateful for the opportunity to study without financial burden at the People’s School, Andra recognizes the initiative as a beacon of hope for underprivileged children who are eager to learn. He emphasizes the accessibility and inclusivity of the school, without additional costs or stringent selection processes, enabling children to pursue their dreams without obstacles.
